Acute Care
This dynamic track offers an exceptional opportunity for nurse practitioners (NPs) working in acute and critical care settings to stay at the forefront of clinical practice. Attendees will gain evidence-based updates across a broad range of essential and emerging topics, including evaluation and management of dangerous airways in the ICU; respiratory failure; neurological emergencies; inpatient management of GI and hepatology conditions; kidney injury and disease. This cutting-edge acute care track is designed to expand your clinical knowledge and sharpen your critical thinking — making it a must-attend experience for those looking to elevate their advanced practice to the next level.
Business/Professional or Entrepreneur
Have you ever considered a career in nursing that goes beyond the bedside? As a NP, the possibilities are endless. Nurse entrepreneurs are establishing and managing their own practices. Clinical nurse educators are developing grant-funded initiatives to support innovative educational experiences, such as NP residency programs. Nurse consultants are contracting their expertise to organizations in need of short-term clinical support. Additionally, NPs are uniquely qualified to serve as expert legal consultants in cases involving nursing standards of care; organizational policies and procedures; and scope of practice. The sessions on this track will highlight the exciting and diverse career opportunities available to NPs — limited only by your imagination.
Cardiology
This comprehensive track empowers NPs with the knowledge and skills needed to lead in the diagnosis, management and prevention of cardiovascular disease across diverse care settings. From foundational concepts to emerging trends, this track covers the full spectrum of cardiovascular care. Attendees will explore cutting-edge topics such as cardiorenal syndrome, the use of echocardiography in clinical practice and the recognition and management of cardiac amyloidosis. Join us to explore the latest advancements that will elevate your cardiovascular practice and prepare you to make an even greater impact on patient care.
Dermatology
The dermatology track is designed for experienced advanced practice providers in primary care who have incorporated — or wish to incorporate — dermatology into their clinical practice. This track will address the care of dermatologic conditions across the life span, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to expand their scope of practice confidently and competently. A wide range of dermatology topics will be covered, including pediatric rashes, autoimmune diseases in dermatology, hair loss, women’s health dermatology, aging skin and many others. These sessions are designed to strengthen and expand the participant’s current dermatologic expertise and clinical acumen.
Endocrinology
Do you want to delve into the complexities of hormonal regulation, diagnostic methodologies, therapeutic interventions and emerging trends in endocrinology? This track equips NPs with a comprehensive foundation in pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of common endocrine disorders — including diabetes, obesity and thyroid conditions. Participants will also gain expertise in advanced treatment modalities and patient education strategies, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver high-quality, evidence-based endocrine care across diverse clinical settings.
Infectious Disease and HIV
Stay at the forefront of one of the most dynamic and evolving areas in health care! This specialized track is designed for NPs who are managing or interested in managing patients with infectious diseases, including HIV. Through evidence-based sessions led by expert clinicians, participants will explore current trends, emerging pathogens, antimicrobial stewardship, resistance patterns and updates on vaccine-preventable diseases. Whether you’re expanding your infectious disease knowledge or deepening your HIV clinical practice, this track provides the tools and insights necessary to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse settings.
Neurology
Gain critical insights into the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions with this engaging and comprehensive track designed specifically for NPs. As the demand for specialized neurological care continues to grow, this track equips clinicians with the tools to deliver expert, evidence-based care across a variety of settings. Sessions will explore pathophysiology, clinical assessment and treatment of common and complex neurological disorders — and the role of interprofessional collaboration in improving patient outcomes.
Pharmacology
The pharmacology track emphasizes advanced concepts in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics with specific attention to their clinical implications. Individual sessions are designed to present the latest advances among a wide variety of contemporary clinical topics of relevance for NPs from all practice settings. Building upon the evidence-based foundation of early practice, these sessions include a higher-level analysis and application of clinical and diagnostic indicators as a foundation for managing complex patients or those who do not otherwise respond to classic, evidence-based drug regimens.
Psych and Mental Health
Patients often view the primary care setting as more acceptable or accessible for mental health care than a specialty setting. Therefore, primary care NPs are on the front lines for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. Research trials consistently demonstrate the effectiveness of integrated care for mental disorders — and yet primary care providers and systems are overburdened, and clinicians sometimes lack knowledge and confidence to practice to the full scope of their NP roles. This topical area provides information to improve the delivery of mental health services in primary care; likewise, it enhances and extends the skill set for the competent mental health provider.
