The Neonatal Community offers a unique opportunity to interactively collaborate with colleagues who share interest or clinical expertise in neonatal care. As a community member, you’ll have access to a cutting-edge, online forum where you can engage in discussions, document sharing and knowledge exchange with fellow nurse practitioners (NPs). Come learn, share and help progress the development of theory and practice in neonatal care.

Colleen Moss is a neonatal NP (NNP) and associate professor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she serves as the academic director for the neonatal NP program. Dr. Moss has dedicated her career to mentoring new graduate neonatal NPs in both the hospital setting as well as the classroom. She has had both a regional and national impact with her scholarship, which includes mentoring NPs and incorporating active learning strategies into neonatal curriculum. Dr. Moss has been awarded the National Association of Neonatal Nurses APRN Excellence Award; Kim Nolan Spirit Award; and the VUSN Ingeborg Mauksch Award for Excellence in Faculty Mentoring.

I am extremely excited to be involved in the Neonatal Community at AANP! I’ve been a practicing NNP since 1992 and am currently on faculty at Emory University as the NNP Program Director and the post-MSN DNP Program Director. I have had the honor to represent the neonatal population on the licensure, accreditation, certification and education (LACE) taskforce and have served as the NANNP Council Co-chair (2012-2014) and NCC Board of Directors and President (2014-2019). In 2014, I was inducted as a Fellow in AANP and, at the time of my induction, there was only one neonatal NP as a fellow.
My hope is that this community group can fill current gaps in the neonatal NP community and bring synergy between NNP faculty, those in clinical practice and research to advance the profession and assure the continuation and longevity of the NNP role.
Join this growing community and engage with other like-minded NPs with an interest in neonatal care. Take part in interactive discussion and debate, gain support and explore Q&As and always be on top of the latest available news, education and information.
