Know Before You Go: The 2025 AANP National Conference

25 Nat Conf Know Before You Go

The biggest nurse practitioner event of the year is almost here. Learn more about what to expect in San Diego — and online.

Over 4,000 nurse practitioners (NPs) will be traveling to the 2025 AANP National Conference in San Diego from June 17-22, spending their time in and out of workshops, product theaters and sessions. Meanwhile, more than 1,300 NPs will take advantage of the on-demand option available, earning their continuing education (CE) credits remotely from anywhere. This is a special conference for the American Association of Nurse Practitioners® (AANP), as the organization turns 40 this year.

“Forty years ago, a group of forward-thinking NPs gathered under an apple tree to address the growing need for NPs of all specialties to have a unified voice,” writes AANP President Stephen A. Ferrara, DNP, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, in his welcome message to 2025 AANP National Conference attendees. Continuing, he says: “This conference offers the opportunity to interact with experts in your specialty area, develop professional relationships, cultivate discussions and see old friends. Plus, you’ll be part of the excitement while celebrating AANP’s 40th anniversary!” Read on to learn about everything the in-person and on-demand options have to offer NPs, and what NPs attending the conference in San Diego should know in order to make the most of their conference experience.

Starting Strong

Starting Monday, June 16, NPs are welcome to visit the San Diego Convention Center for on-site registration and badge pickup, 4-8 p.m. (PT). Sessions begin on Tuesday, June 17, and end Sunday, June 22. The in-person conference includes more than 330 sessions and workshops, and in-person attendees also have access to an on-demand package of sessions at no extra charge from June 27 to Aug. 4.

Workshops begin at 8 a.m. (PT) on June 17, and the day concludes with a Welcome Reception in the Sails Pavilion at the San Diego Convention Center from 5:30-7 p.m. (PT). On Wednesday, June 18, the conference moves into high gear with the Opening General Session, featuring speaker and master storyteller Matthew Luhn. About his presentation to NPs at the conference, Luhn says: “I'm going to share how you can hook people within eight seconds and be able to keep their attention so that you can share how you can help transform their lives for the better.”

On Thursday from 1-6 p.m. (PT), the Exhibit Hall will open to all conference attendees.
